The PLAN test is an ACT assessment designed to measure student achievement in skills typically developed early in high school. This year, Milano ISD will be offering the PLAN test to all sophomores at no charge, TUESDAY, MAY 5, 2015 in the cafeteria. The PLAN is strictly a practice test; scores are not reported, nor are they included on a student's transcript.
The test includes four cognitive tests, which measure ability in the areas of English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science Reasoning. The PLAN results help students initiate the process to make post-secondary plans, identify areas for improvement needed to make a successful transition to post-secondary education or work, and acquire test taking strategies associated with college admission tests.
In addition to the cognitive tests, a unique feature of the PLAN enables students to examine career and educational options. Each student completes an interest inventory and student information section, which assess occupational interests, abilities, and needs. The areas in which career interests and educational aptitudes overlap can provide important direction for post-secondary planning.
The registration form must be returned and signed by parent/guardian by Friday, April 24, 2015 by 3:00pm. No registrations will be accepted after that time. It is an absolute deadline, as additional tests may not be ordered beyond that date.
